5 MAKEUP MISTAKES TO AVOID

Look, no one is born knowing how to apply makeup; yet, there are a select few that can apply mascara flawlessly! Some blunders have become full-fledged fads, while others, well, let’s just say we’ve learnt our lesson! But, errors and all, makeup is a lot of fun. As you experiment, you’ll discover that what works for you may not work for others, and vice versa. Who knows, some cosmetics errors may even work for you. As a result, we’ve compiled a list of some of the most common makeup blunders and how to avoid them.

Are You Looking 5 Makeup Mistakes To Avoid?

1. Using the incorrect foundation shade

We’re not reenacting the White Chicks movie, so make sure you’re wearing the right foundation shade. The good thing is that we’ve all been here at some point in our lives, so there’s no need to pass judgement; we live and learn. The trick is to consider your undertones while purchasing foundation. This is sometimes overlooked, especially by those who are just starting out in the makeup industry. Check the colour of your veins to determine your undertones. Warm undertones are represented by green, whereas cooler undertones are represented by blue or purple. Once you’ve mastered this, you’ll be able to select the appropriate foundation shade.

2. You’re not putting anything on your neck.

Another blunder. Whatever you use on your face must also be used on your neck and blended appropriately. Keep in mind that your neck is an extension of your face, therefore it needs to be in good shape as well. All you have to do now is match the colour of your face and neck.

3. Excessive use of lip liner

Look, we all have those moments where we get a little too excited and apply too much lip liner. It occurs to the most well-intentioned of us. Lip liner is designed to give the appearance of larger lips. It’s as easy as that. However, lining your lips is just as easy, and you’ll end up looking like Pennywise – this won’t do. Applying lip liner just outside your natural lip line is a good strategy to remember.

4. Leaving your eye makeup unblended

This is one that, in some instances, we can overlook. You should apply eye shadow on your eyelid, crease, and highlight colour when applying it. If you don’t mix your eyeshadow, it can look a lot messier. Don’t forget to acquire a blending brush to assist you with this process.

5. Putting on makeup and sleeping

The biggest no-no in terms of makeup! It might not only harm your skin, but it can also spoil your bedding. No matter how exhausted you are, remember to remove your makeup. After a long day of wearing makeup, you’ll want to give your skin a chance to breathe, as well as give your pores a chance to breathe. All it takes is a quick splash and wash of the face!
