Now, if we must ever compromise on our devoted potato fries for the sake of our health, there must be a compelling cause to do so. Cannot be for anything other than, uh, fries! After all, haven’t we put our faith in them through good times and bad?

Here are some Non-Potato healthy alternatives to those tempting fries, just in case.

1) Avocado Fry

Avocado Fries

Avocados are delicious and make a great side dish for your low-carb lunches because they have the right texture to pair with the fries. All you have to do is chop your avocados into matchstick-sized pieces using a julienne blade.

3/4 cup breadcrumbs, 2 tablespoons of ground flax, and 1 teaspoon of mild chilli spice should be combined in a bowl for the recipe. Whisk 1 egg in a another bowl. 16 wedges of two peeled avocados were cut into, then dipped in, egg, breadcrumb mixture, and placed on a baking pan. Apply cooking spray or vegetable oil to it. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the outside is crispy. Sprinkle salt over it, then top with hot sauce.

2) Banana fries

The raw banana should be sliced into fries using the julienne technique. Fries are spread out on a baking sheet. Apply olive oil to fries. Combine salt, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and ground coriander; sprinkle mixture over fries. Turning them over after roughly 10 minutes of baking at 400 degrees.

3) Fried zucchini

Even though it might seem improbable, zucchini actually produces delicious and nutritious fries. It not only has a firm texture but also fries excellently.

Cooking spray and aluminum foil are used to line a baking sheet. In a small bowl, combine the Parmesan cheese and bread crumbs. In a separate shallow bowl, whisk the eggs. Zucchini strips should be coated with bread crumbs after being dipped in egg mixture, shaken to remove any excess, and then rolled in batches. Place the coated zucchini strips on the baking sheet that has been prepared. Bake zucchini fries in a preheated oven for 20 to 24 minutes, turning once when golden and crisp.

4) Carrot fries that are baked

Baked Carrot Fries

This is undoubtedly the healthiest type of fries. Additionally, it complements the taste of a carb-heavy dish like lasagna or paste when given as a side dish.

Carrots should be peeled and cut into fries. Add salt, pepper, and olive oil to the carrots and toss. On a baking sheet, arrange the carrots in a single layer. After 10 minutes of baking, turn each carrot fry over. For another 10 minutes or more, bake the dish until it is thoroughly heated through and somewhat crispy. Serve right away.

5) Fries with French toast

French toast fries

This weekend, treat yourself to some French toast fries since they are just as decadent as the French toast itself.

Cut each slice into 4 sticks for the recipe. A bowl big enough to roll the bread sticks in should have the eggs, milk, and a dash of salt combined. On a plate, mix the sugar and cinnamon. In a big pan, melt half the butter over medium-high heat. Place the sticks in the pan after briefly coating them with the egg mixture (do not drown them). I can accommodate 8 sticks in my pan, so I cook them in two batches. Cook each side until browned by turning. Transfer to the plate with the cinnamon sugar right away, and roll to coat. To ensure that it stays, it is crucial to act fast while they are still hot from the pan. Cook the remaining French toast sticks by melting the remaining batter. Serve the sticks immediately with caramel sauce or maple syrup for dipping.

6) Apple fries

When you are having friends around for a weekend get-together, apple fries may be the perfect dessert. Serve these as a dip with cinnamon, sugar, and melted vanilla ice cream.

Use a lot of cooking oil and heat your deep fryer on the highest flame possible. Whip cream after adding vanilla essence. To taste, add powdered sugar. After that, peel the apples and take out the cores. Slice them into the appropriate shapes. Apple slices should be completely covered in cornstarch before being shaken off. Put a few of them at a time in the frying. Take it out and set it down on the paper towel. Slices of fried apple are added to the mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Serve with whipped cream right away.
